Whitney Jean

(Please click the images to see the (nearly) full-sized pages.)

When i saw Nicole's Milles Fleurs QuickPages, I immediately thought of the professional photos that Cheryl had done of Whitney last year. She had asked us not to duplicate them, but wanting to see what they would look like in these settings, I did, promising myself neither to show them to anyone (but Jan who only saw them looking over my shoulder!) nor to ask Cheryl if i could use them. Today, I just had to ask--the images seemed just so perfect, and Cheryl said "Yes"! Yippee! So, here is Jan's Whitney!

The journaling reads:
Jan's Best Friend, Whitney Jean. She is very protective of Jan, only barking when Jan appears threatened. The rest of the family is just there for the convenience of the two of them, LOL.

You gotta know: we decided, when our son became a teen, to let him have a dog. It had to be hypoallergenic cause i'm allergic to most animal dander. We have a friend who is a breeder, and she knew someone who owned and showed Chinese Cresteds; this person was looking for a home for a Puff who she was not going to breed or show. We passed inspection and adopted Whitney for our son. Well, she tolerated him, but it was clear that she really liked Jan. She sat with Jan, and even though we put her in with our son at night, she'd always end up next to Jan! We finally gave up, and within a year, everytime our son would walk into the house, Whitney would bark like the dickens. She knows MY footfall from his and doesn't bark when i'm wandering around, but oh man, our young man cannot even walk toward the bedrooms without a howl coming forth! If Jan is not around, Whitney will "allow" the young man to walk her if necessary, but she won't eat if he's the only one in the house! Too Funny!

The word art on the page reads:
Love...Love teaches us how to laugh, cry, be happy and sad all at the same time."

I think this is the essence of what Jan and Whitney have found in each other. What a wonderful relationship.

By the way, if you are a pet lover, particularly a dog lover, please visit the Topaz Graphics website. And if you are a scrapper and don't know of Nicole Kaltenecker, it's time you visited NBK-Proudly presents as well. Both sites are amazing!

PS: 10/11/07--wouldn't you know it: when i had the photographer look at the pages, she thought the pictures weren't quite right, so she made color corrections AND gave me a new picture, so now there's a THIRD page here. Also, i didn't put the same pictures in the same order in the new sets, so if they look a little different in other respects, that's why. Here's the third page!
