It's the Great Pumpkin!

Now most of us over the age of five have heard that famous Charles Schultz line at least once. Two days ago, at the Weeds and Wildflowers blog, The Meadow (click), Jess Gordon gave tips and tricks about shape templates and generously provided a pumpkin template that just kept calling me! Now, one of the things that draws me about digital scrapbooking is that your layouts don't HAVE to be still, and i like to play ('cause, really, the animation is quite bad, but it's soo much fun!). Halloween is also not a holiday that usually speaks to me either, but Derek, of DerekMDesigns (click) had published his Cast Iron kit and re-published his Googleye kit, Monica Sunshine (click) had published a Halloween Party Kit, and NewLife of NewLife's Dreams (click) had published a whopper of a kit, Halloween Night. Each of these kits came as generous freebies from the designers, and they were a little different than some others that i had seen. So when i saw this pumpkin shaped template, each of these designers popped into my head (oKaY, y'all can get out for a little while now!) and their kits began to scream, "ME, ME, ME!"

Then, to top it off, I talked to a friend tonight, whose birtday I had missed yesterday. She reads my blog when i make her, and i asked if she liked Halloween. Turns out that she doesn't like the squeamy, squirmy stuff (the thought of putting our hands in peeled grapes or cold spaghetti brought delight to neither of us; costumes just aren't our interest, and both of us are trying to ignore the c---y), but both of us have or have had a fondness for carving pumpkins! She has and can put her hands on her pumpkin carving tools in under 5 minutes, and so can i, and we both (ok, maybe it's just me!) scour the web for pumpkin carving patterns (one year i found one of Elvis!). So, today's LO is dedicated to my friend, KC!

So, here's The Great Punkin Collection. If you click the image, i do believe you'll see a bigger version of it. I tried to slow the animation down so that it doesn't drive you crazy, but it should take less than one minute to make it's rounds. Enjoy (or move on if it's makin you crazy!)

My Dear - Thank You so much for the Birthday wishes, no matter when they arrive. Loved the card! The quilting pieces on the pumpkin was very cool and animation, too!

Just the thought of a haunted house makes my stomach queasy lol I'm totally in love with carving pumpkins, squash and other assorted fall veggies. In Michigan it was a bit more fun to carve a pumpkin, but I've carved several here in Florida - but have never had to reach for the hot apple cider - more like a cold glass of iced tea lol

I read your blog fairly often and always love your scrapbook pages, but mostly I love to read the history of you and your family.

Hugs, Kirby
